PRODUCTS

Watergel is constantly developing and improving its products. In its portfolio there are different types of gel coat, non-reactive pigment pastes and polyester putty in general for the manufacture of molds and fiberglass parts.

Gel Coat

PRIMER

Its main characteristic is the amount of mineral fillers, which makes the product easy to sand or sandblast and provides good adhesion to the final painting.

ORTHOPHALIC

General purpose use, it provides excellent stiffness and low impact resistance, with shiny surface, moderate chemical and hydrolysis resistance, it has a more affordable cost. It is not recommended for external and corrosive environments.

ISOPHTHALIC

General use, with good finishing standard, great color retention, high gloss, excellent chemical resistance, high point of thermo-distortion, better hydrolysis and impact resistance.

ISOFTALIC WITH NPG (NEO PENTIL GLICOL)

Similar to isophthalic gel coat, however, due to NPG, it allows the parts manufacturers to improve performance and final finishing. Widely used in parts that are in permanent contact with water, such as swimming pools, bathtubs, water tanks and nautical products.

CHEMICAL BARRIER

It is applied on the finishing gel coat and before lamination in order to increase the resistance to blistering, improving the surface finishing. Used mainly in swimming pool and nautical markets as a differentiation factor for its products.

ESTER-VINYLIC

Used in special applications when high mechanical properties are required, combined with a highly aggressive or corrosive environment.

MOLD

Gel coat for finishing molds which require very high gloss and guaranteed high quality during the life of a mold. It is produced from additives and resin blends that assures its dimensional stability and brightness.

SELF EXTINGUISHABLE

Gel coat with anti-flammability and flame retardant characteristics, produced from self-extinguishing resin and special additives. Used in internal parts or in areas requiring social security.

POLYESTER GEL COAT

This gel coat is similar to the Primer, but more noble and with better performance and profitability. It also provides greater coverage and fluidity. It has greater flexibility and stability, making the product more homogeneous, with greater resistance to impact and risks, among others.

Non-reactive pigment pastes

It is a product based on pigments and dyes that has the function of providing to the gel coat or resin the necessary stain to obtain color and aesthetics. The choice of pigments or their combination for coloring should be based on the following considerations:

  • Excellent thermal stability
  • High light fastness
  • UV resistance
  • High covering and dyeing power
  • Perfect grinding
  • No interference with gel time

Available PNR’s: Standard colors with organic and inorganic pigments and standard colors developed under customer specification on the available scales (Pantone, Munsell, RAL etc.) or by samples.

Polyester Putty in General

Product used on the surface of composite parts for the purpose of repairing, bonding or assisting in the manufacture of parts. We produce different types of paste, according to the customer's needs and specifications, which can be pigmented or not.
